Today is ‘Eat Outside Day’, so we thought we’d share some of our favourite spots for dining al-fresco across the Coast & Country collection.
Our half-board breaks offer unbeatable value, inclusive of hearty, traditional breakfasts each morning, and a recently revamped table d'hôte evening menu. Want more flexibility? We now offer room only or bed & breakfast breaks too, and improved à la carte and afternoon tea menus.
We have projects planned at a number of hotels to enhance your experience when it comes to dining and drinks. A new seafood restaurant at The Ship & Castle will launch next year and coming Autumn 2017, a new micro-brewery selling our own ale at The Derwentwater and a new destination bar, Orrest Head Lodge at The Windermere.
We’ll update you further on these exciting updates over the coming months.
Top spots for dining outside
Occupying a truly unique position built into the stone walls of the medieval old town, this stunning cliff-top location commands awe-inspiring views across the beach and sea to St Catherine’s Island. Here you will enjoy drinks and meals in style, taking in the panoramic views of the beach.
The elegant conservatory restaurant opens up to picturesque grounds, which make a great place for a pit stop before enjoying a pleasant stroll down to the water, keeping a look out for the elusive deer and red squirrels along the way.
A tricolour expanse of green landscaped lawns and gardens, golden sands of the nearby beach and vibrant blue sea awaits when enjoying a meal or sundowners on this terrific terrace. On a warm day, work up an appetite first in the outdoor pool.
The gardens at The George, with water features and colourful plants, are complemented by the pretty North Tyne River flowing alongside. Enjoy an afternoon al fresco with a choice of delicious dishes, before retiring to the on-site leisure club.
