Hill Top Farm

Wonderfully furnished, looking exactly as it did when Beatrix Potter lived, this remarkable 17th century farmhouse was her much-loved home.

It’s a time capsule containing all of her favourite things, and is surrounded by the countryside features that inspired her stories and paintings. This National Trust attraction was bought by Beatrix Potter with the money she earned from the Tale of Peter Rabbit. Visitors can enjoy the house and its floral gardens before stopping at the Beatrix Potter shop to buy gifts, souvenirs, books and toys. Nearby, you’ll also find the Beatrix Potter Gallery with her paintings on display.
