Located in the lovely Somerset town of Wells, this historic house is a medieval palace set in 14 acres of land.
The freshwater springs that inspired the town’s name can be found within the gardens. Throughout the year, various events are hosted at the palace, including medieval re-enactments and bird of prey displays. The Bishop’s swans are resident mute swans, famous because they ring a bell whenever they want food and will often take organised walks down the street to a local pond. It’s worth visiting just to see them.
