Tenby is a special town, big enough for a good range of things to do and a great choice of bars and restaurants, but small enough to be charming and intimate.
Built into the old town walls, the Imperial has recently undergone a large refurbishment giving it a beautiful new restaurant and lounge with stunning views across the beach and sea to St Catherine’s Fort.
If an early evening drink takes your fancy, our patio terrace will take some beating, set directly above the beach and sea, and it gets the late evening sun right until it sets in the west – perfect after a busy day’s sightseeing. The refurbishment means we now offer some stunning Premier and Superior rooms, for special breaks.

The 45 rooms at the Imperial Hotel are elegant and comfortable, in keeping with the character of the property. They provide the perfect place to unwind after a hard day’s beachcombing or sightseeing.
The Imperial Tenby Hotel Premier Room
Often our most luxurious room option. Most premier rooms have four-poster beds and spacious en suite bathrooms that have been beautifully re-fitted to accommodate separate bath and shower options. These Premier Rooms normally offer a 32 inch flat screen digital television, as well as a comfortable seating area. The rooms also include a hairdryer and shaving point as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A478 heading to Tenby/B4316/Saundersfoot Go through 1 roundabout. Slight left at A478/Narberth Rd. Continue to follow A478. The main pull for many is the stunning beaches, here in Tenby and nearby at Stepaside, Amroth and Saundersfoot. A visit to the beautiful St David's Cathedral is inspiring, whilst Colby Woodland Gardens or the Botanical Gardens of Wales are well worth a visit.

Local Insight
13 years ago I moved here to work here for a month and I am still here! I think the main pull for me is the sea and the beaches, here in Tenby and nearby at Saundersfoot, Stepaside and Amroth. In my opinion, they are some of the best in the UK. I never tire of the boat trip across to Caldey Island, home to the monks, or a trip out seal spotting. A visit to the beautiful St David’s Cathedral still inspires me.
The tranquillity of Colby Woodland Gardens or the grander Botanical Gardens of Wales are both well worth a visit.

- Tudor Merchant's House
Visit this fascinating three-storey house, situated close to the harbour within the historic walled town of Tenby, and discover how the Tudor merchant and his family would have lived. Furnished to recreate the atmosphere of family life in Tudor times, there are costumes for children to try on and replica toys to play with. Features of the house include a fine 'Flemish' round chimney and the original scarfed roof-trusses, as well as remains of 18th-century secco paintings. Access to the small herb garden is available, weather permitting.

Set in a tranquil and secluded valley, this glorious informal woodland garden with a fascinating industrial past, offers a variety of walks along open and wooded pathways. Rhododendrons, magnolias, azaleas and camellias, under planted with bluebells, provide spring colour. Later highlights are the summer hydrangeas and autumn foliage.

- Picton Castle and Woodland Gardens
Situated close to the Cleddau Estuary, known locally as the 'hidden waterway', Picton Castle comprises 40 acres of some of the most beautiful woodland gardens and grounds in West Wales. Soak up the special magic as you stroll beneath some of the largest and oldest trees in West Wales and discover woodland walks, ferns, a maze and abundant feasts of wild flowers that blend with unusual woodland shrubs from all corners of the world.

A garden "lost in time", in the process of restoration. One of the interesting features is a yew tunnel planted in the 18th century. A cloister garden parapet allows you to walk along the top of the walls for views over the garden below.

The Great Glasshouse Collection represents thousands of plants from areas of the world which have a Mediterranean climate – central Chile, the south west of Australia, South Africa’s Cape, California, Canary Island’s and the Mediterranean Basin. The double walled garden collection tells the story of the evolution of flowering plants, the apothecaries garden collection features herbal plants from around the world and the wallace garden collection consists of natural plant mutations. The Woods of the World, planting which began in 2005, is made up of trees and shrubs from regions of the world.
