Our location set above the quaint and beautiful little fishing village of Portpatrick in a peaceful and unspoilt corner of Southern Scotland is very special. No one who visits us says anything other than “ Pictures can’t do justice to this view” – it’s just beautiful. The village itself is small, friendly and lovely for an early evening stroll – just a great way to relax.
We are blessed with having some beautiful gardens around the hotel with Logan Botanic Gardens and Culzean Castle being the best known but there are lots more. The Mull of Galloway is another great spot, with views across to England, Ireland and the Isle of Man all from one location.
The area is a haven for lovers of sports and the outdoors. You’ll also find a variety of wonderful opportunities for bird watching and fishing.

The Car park is located at the front of the hotel.
With our location it was never a hard decision to take the job as General Manager here at Portpatrick 12 years ago. All those years on, the place is still as magical and the views just as unspoilt. The majority of our guests come to stay with us simply to relax and we hope, with our long serving staff offering the very best of Scottish hospitality and our location, you will add to our list of regulars.
Sporty guests are pleased with our choice of golf courses. My personal favourite is the Portpatrick and for the more challenging Turnberry, home to the 2009 Open, is just an hour away.

Had a great Christmas at Port Patrick. Hotel clean, staff all very cheerful and helpful. Made to feel welcome from the moment the coach arrived. Food very good and the choice excellent. If I was to be picky the only fault I could find was with the evening entertainment, very samey. Do the no longer have comedians in Scotland? Thanks to all the staff at the hotel for making this an enjoyable Christmas.

Just returned from a 3 day break we enjoyed our stay. A lovely spot, clean room, excellent dining and bar staff. Our stay was marred however by totally unsatisfactory hot water and shower problems. First morning thanks to maintenance staff I managed a slightly warm shower. Second morning cold shower water only and a lukewarm wash at the basin. Last morning a hot shower I assume because several people checked out the day before. I like a hot shower whenever I want it when at a hotel.

Stayed at the hotel with friends for a short break as we were celebrating birthdays. Having stayed at the George in Hexham earlier in the year we were delighted that standards were the same and we received the same excellent welcome and service at the Portpatrick. Had standard room with sea view, clean and comfy, the staff were great as was the food, well presented and delicious, even the weather was kind, I am sure that we will return in the future for another visit. Good value for money.

The staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful, going that extra mile to make our stay a pleasant one. The food was first class and we received the quickest service of our lives. The hotel was clean, warm and welcoming and the sea view from our room was ideal. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable and was cleaned quickly to a high standard. We will definitely be going back. My ten year old son loved it too.

My husband and I booked to celebrate our Ruby Wedding. Good choice, as our long week end was wonderful, our room was lovely, really clean. Every one of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I suffer from Coeliac Disease and was delighted to find that all staff were very knowledgeable about it which made me feel I could completely relax knowing I would not become ill. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone, thanks to all who made our break special.

A very well presented hotel in a fine headland position overlooking the attractive port. Our room was excellent and the staff were pleasant and helpful. There was a reasonable choice of menu at dinner and breakfast and the food was good. Highly recommended.
