The Portpatrick Hotel
An imposing building standing at the top of a cliff, overlooking the beautiful fishing village and harbour of Portpatrick, the appropriately named Portpatrick Hotel is a wonderful turreted building. Richly furnished, and set in 9 acres of grounds, the hotel includes an exceptional restaurant and is located by the Dunskey Golf Course. During your stay you’ll be able to enjoy the gardens, to relax on the patio and to take short strolls down to the harbour and beach. Little gift shops, traditional pubs and pretty parks add to the atmosphere of true Scottish hospitality.
At the nearby Glen Trool Forest Park, you’ll get a clear view of the sky unspoiled by artificial light. You’ll see the stars like never before, and can savour complete peace and quiet. Other local attractions include Burns Cottage, Culzean Castle and the Mull of Galloway with its views to the Isle of Man. Many who stay at the Portpatrick Hotel choose to enjoy a day trip to Belfast, and to visit the wide range of attractions to be found within the city.
A Warm Welcome To The Portpatrick Hotel…
Here in South West Scotland, we have the fortunate position that commands spectacular views which are second to none. The picturesque village is only a stroll away. For its size, it is a haven for fine eating and drinking in the many friendly bars and restaurants.
For the garden enthusiasts we have Logan Botanic Gardens, Castle Kennedy Gardens, Glenwhan Gardens and Dunskey Gardens all in the local area. There are many more if you wish to travel further afield in the Dumfries and Galloway area.
The more adventurous can take a trip to Belfast. This is a fantastic day out to a city which has been thriving in recent years. A visit to the Titanic museum is a must.
Along with cliff walks, bird watching and numerous golf courses, there is plenty for those how love the outdoors.
What some of our guests have to say…
Thank you for a lovely stay. We loved the way that all your staff are so happy and helpful with nothing too much trouble. The views across the harbour from our room were magnificent and relaxing on your balcony with a drink from the bar was so pleasant. Running www.scottishrecipes.co.uk makes me sort of an expert on porridge and your chef makes the best I've tasted in a long time. All meals were plentiful and delicious, especially the duck and mushroom pudding with its enticing crunch. Great! xx
We had really good holiday. The hotel was very nice and clean the food was really good and tasty the staff were all very friendly.
Stayed at the hotel with friends for a short break as we were celebrating birthdays. Having stayed at the George in Hexham earlier in the year we were delighted that standards were the same and we received the same excellent welcome and service at the Portpatrick. Had standard room with sea view, clean and comfy, the staff were great as was the food, well presented and delicious, even the weather was kind, I am sure that we will return in the future for another visit. Good value for money.
