Great North Run 11th September The largest half marathon in the world starts in Newcastle upon Tyne, where thousands of people cross over the iconic Tyne Bridge as the Red Arrows pass overhead. Buttermere Open Water Swim 11th September Set amidst a spectacular backdrop of dramatic fells, forest and waterfalls, the Buttermere Lake Open Water Swim is a fantastic spectator event. IronMan 18th September One of the most challenging bike and run courses on the Ironman calendar, Ironman Wales begins with a 2.4 mile swim on Tenby's stunning North Beach, followed by a 112 mile bike ride through Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and ends with a full marathon through Tenby's medieval town walls. Nidderdale Show 19th September The Nidderdale Show is a traditional Dales agricultural Show offering a display of the finest livestock, produce and crafts from the area.
