With 47 bedrooms over two floors, the hotel is a historic building dating back to the 1700s. It is set in a beautiful location by the North Tyne River, just five miles from the market town of Hexham. The largest of our suites, The Kielder Suite is excellent for conferences and functions and can accommodate up to 50 delegates. The suite benefits from natural daylight.

The River Suite
The elegant River Suite on the first floor has many features including river views and a large open fireplace. This room is ideal for small receptions and can accommodate up to 40 delegates.

Directions to the George Hotel from the M6

The Hotel is only 40 minutes drive from Carlisle. Head North on the M6 towards Exit 43. At junction 43, take the A69 exit to Carlisle / Newcastle / Hexham. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto A69 heading to Hexham / Newcastle / Brampton. Turn right to stay on A69 (sign for A69 / Hexham / Newcastle). At the roundabout take the 3rd exit and stay on A69 heading to Newcastle / Hexham. Turn left towards B6318 / Glenwhelt Bank, continue to follow B6318. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit and stay on B6318, the hotel will be on the left.

At The George Hotel we have two car parks, a small one at the front and a larger car park at the rear, the two car parks can hold about 90 cars.
