There's plenty to see and do

From Tudor houses to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and from walking trails along the River Avon to adventurous days out at Kenilworth Castle, there’s so much to see and do in Warwickshire. Few counties have kept their historic buildings in such good condition, which is why tourists flock from all over the world to enjoy the impressive beamed country houses, the birthplace of playwright William Shakespeare and the living museum at Mary Arden’s Farm. The towns of Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa are some of the most popular tourist destinations. Visit attractions that include the Royal Pump Rooms, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and the 17th Century Warwick Castle. You’ll be able to go back in time to visit some of the UK’s most significant buildings, and to walk in the footsteps of the rich and famous of times gone by.
If you’re not interested in historic houses and National Trust properties, then why not visits some more modern Warwickshire attractions? Test your Frisbee skills at the Quarry Park Disc Golf Course, and enjoy a great day out no matter what your age, or head to Warwick Racecourse which is one of the oldest courses in the UK.
At Plantasia, enjoy the UK’s largest collection of mazes. There’s one for every continent, so that you can tour the world and collect stamps to commemorate your visit. There are lovely gardens and nature trails, the grounds include a pretty lake and a tree top walk, and there are animals on site include deer, pigs, sheep and alpacas. The picnic and BBQ area are perfect for a relaxing afternoon with family, though if you’re looking for somewhere a little less commercial you’ll find that the Warwickshire countryside is filled with picturesque beauty spots where you can sit and enjoy a sandwich.
As one of the best counties for golfing holidays and for spa breaks and as the home of Twycross Zoo, various theatres and the Shakespeare Express steam train, Warwickshire has so much to do that you’ll need to visit more than once.
